Tweeting
via Twitter is already one of the must do things for internet marketers or anyone
wanting to make it big online, but using the standard twitter service (i.e. http://www.twitter.com) for posting and
reading friends posts leaves much to be desired, as unfortunately all of your tweets
along with your friends replies are lumped into a single pane in your browser,
making conversations hard to follow at the best of times. To really squeeze the true awesomeness out of Twitter
you need to plug your Twitter account into one or more of the many 3rd
party twitter apps and services.
Now
since there are so many Twitter applications and services I have listed down my
top Twitter Applications and Services which I could not Tweet Without.
TweetDeck – This is my
number one pick, I totally love this free application, here is why:
The
TweetDeck window is broken down into vertical columns (as below). Your first
column displays tweets from all of your friends, the second column contains
replies to your tweets and the third default column contains direct messages to
your.

TweetDeck’s
layout is great but in my opinion it’s not this feature alone that makes it a
killer app, but this along with its search, shorten URL, and TwitPic integration
is what puts TweetDeck in my number 1 spot.
Tip: TweetDeck is great on a large
wide screen monitor (i.e. 24 or 30 inch), just keep adding extra search columns
you will be notified anytime your desired search term is tweeted anywhere Twitter
universe (that right not just your friends)
Twittelator
Pro
– Want to Tweet on the road with your IPhone then look no further than
Twittelator Pro, the interface is great and it gives you a lot of extra features
that make tweeting on the run just as easy as from your desk.

The
outstanding features of Twittelator Pro are:
- Search, find out the
instance anyone in the Twitter universe tweets on any of your desired keywords,
including anytime your twitter screen name is mentioned
- TwitPic
integration
– post pictures to twitter via TwitPic and Twittilator Pro
- Post
Current Location
with the help of your IPhone 3G’s assisted GPS feature and piurl, you can
post the location of your favourite restaurant or hotel.
- Who is following Who
- Multiple
Twitter Account Support Have multiple Twitter accounts, say
one for each blog or website, then Twittilator Pro caters for you
- Auto
Spelling Correction and Auto Capitalization

Note
there is a free version of Twittelator
Pro named simply Twittelator,
but it does not contain anywhere near the number of features found in the Pro
version, it is however worth a try before forking out for the excessive US$4.99
J for Twittelator Pro
Ping.fm - Have multiple Social Networking (Twitter, Facebook,
MySpace, etc) accounts and want to update your status in all of them via a
single post, then this is the service for you, it also works well in safari on
your IPhone, bonus!

TweetLater.com – TweetLater.com
has several great features but my top picks are:
Scheduled Tweet feature, just pre-populate
it with on topic tweets and schedule them to be sent at any date/time you
specify.

Auto reply when someone
follows you, create a welcome message, such as Thanks for following me; I am
looking forward to Twittering with you!
The
final feature I recommend from TweetLater is the RSS feed, which allows you to choose tweets that can be displayed
in a side bar or any section of your blog that you choose, it’s a great feature
I have not yet implemented but will in the next few days, and I will let you all know how it goes.
later also allows you to Auto Follow people who follow you, but there are many
reasons not to use this feature one of which is Twitter spam.
You
can expect more in the next week and this year from NetMoneyFAQ about on
Twitter, why not subscribe to the NetMoneyFAQ RSS feed or Follow me on Twitter.
